Massanutten Academy offers three academic programs, Middle School (Grades 5-8), High School (9-12), and post-graduate. We have structured each program to the specific educational needs and goals of students based on their grade level. All MA students benefit from experiential learning and a hands-on learning environment to enhance each students individual learning style. Students work directly with the MA Registrar to choose classes that fit their individual goals and broaden their learning experience. All MA students are provided time daily for study hall, academic coaching, or peer tutoring.
The Middle School program provides an educational environment in which students are inspired to explore and to enjoy the learning process! Teachers use experiential learning to teach traditional core subjects such as mathematics (based on level), English, science, and history. STEM, art, band, foreign language and physical education are also offered for middle school students.
Students in the High School program are immersed in a college preparatory learning environment as well as the International Baccalaureate Career-related Program. MA currently offers Language and Literature and Environmental Systems and Societies. High school students can also choose to take Honors classes, AP classes, and dual enrollment courses. The high school program is specifically designed to prepare students for the academic expectations in a college environment.
The post-graduate (PG) program provides students a gap year before applying to college. The MA program is designed to ensure students have the academic structure, flexibility, and focus to complete the PG program prepared for their next step.
Our Summer STAR Program enrollment is open for on-campus activities this summer! Keep your student on track this summer by choosing between our Academic, JROTC, or Colonels Camp (5th-8th grade) programs. All programs are co-educational and we offer boarding and an online option for academic camp.
